Former Sundowns Star Spotted at SuperSport
Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Gift Motupa has been spotted training with the club’s Tshwane rivals, SuperSport United.
Joining Sundowns in 2020, Motupa had barely any gametime, having only scored three goals in 22 appearances across all competitions. As a result, he and Sundowns mutually parted away last Friday, 26 January.
As a free agent, the 29-year-old has the freedom to join any club he desires; so far, initial rumours linked him with a move to Kaizer Chiefs.
Now, according to the latest reports, Motupa was recently seen training with SuperSport, who, according to sources, say that “they’ve always wanted him. Hopefully he gets a deal.”
This news comes over a week after ex-Chiefs midfielder Khama Billiat was also spotted at the Tshwane Giants’ training grounds in the hopes of securing a new contract.
SuperSport is scheduled to face off against Sekhukhune United on 13 February – much like Billiat, we’ll just have to wait and see if Motupa makes the cut by then.
